Anthony Wayne High School hosted a Veterans Day assembly on Monday, Nov. 11 which included tributes to veterans and the induction of 22 graduates and former staff members to the prestigious Wall of Honor.
The AWHS Military Wall of Honor, established in 2019, recognizes the sacrifices of Anthony Wayne High School alumni and employees who have served, or are actively serving in the armed forces. The newly added names, representing veterans from various branches of the military, will join the ranks of those already enshrined on the wall.
“We are deeply honored to recognize the brave individuals who have served our country and our community,” said Dr. Kevin Pfefferle, AWHS Principal. “Their selflessness and commitment deserve to be remembered, and this ceremony is a small way for us to express our gratitude.”
The Veterans Day ceremony also included keynote addresses by 180th Fighter Wing Retired Lt. Colonel Rebecca "Buffy" Ohm and 107th Fighter Squadron Retired Lt. Colonel John "Mojo" Ohm, and musical performances by the AWHS Band and AWHS Close Harmony choir ensemble.
