Ken Bialecki is proud of the training he received at Penta Career Center. He believes that the education and skills he obtained while at Penta ultimately led him to a successful career as an electrician and business owner.
Although Ken didn't begin working in the electrical industry immediately after high school, he never stopped pursuing employment in this field when job opportunities were more readily available.
"I first worked in the restaurant industry, then was a propane delivery driver for a few years," says Ken. "I started working as an electrician in 1990 and opened my own electrical business out of my house in 1994."
Ken's experience working for area electrical contractors motivated him to pursue business ownership. When Ken formed AE Electric, Inc. he worked mainly as an electrician. As his business grew, he was able to hire more employees.
Ken is a big supporter of Penta and career-technical education. He is a member of the ABC adult apprenticeship organization. Ken takes pride in hiring employees that are Penta and Anthony Wayne alumni.
Ken's company has seen substantial growth over the years. The majority of his business is residential work with 30 percent commercial projects. Ken and AE Electric provide electrical services for 20 area builders. As a 30-year business owner with 24 employees, he now focuses on the day-to-day operations of his company. Ken's major duties entail bidding, ordering and financial operations. He leaves the hands-on work to his electricians.
In addition to the electrical industry, Ken often works as a consultant in the travel industry. He enjoys traveling and helps people plan their vacation destinations. Ken is most knowledgeable about tropical destinations like Jamaica, Bahamas, Cancun and the Dominican Republic.
Ken enjoys giving back to the community. AE Electric donates electrical services through Buckeye Real Estate Group for the annual St.Jude Dream Home Giveaway. He also supports Charity Blessings in Disguise, Folds of Honor, the livestock auction at the Lucas County Fair and the Northwest Ohio Rib-Off. As an avid golfer, Ken also provides support to the boys' golf team at Anthony Wayne High School.
Ken has been married to Dawn for 37 years. They have three adult children - Joshua, Chad and Kendall - and four grandchildren.
