Dear Anthony Wayne Community,
On behalf of the Board of Education, I am pleased to share that at tonight’s meeting, the Board appointed Kevin Herman to serve as the Superintendent of Anthony Wayne Local Schools. Mr. Herman will lead the District through September 2026, at which time he plans to retire.
To ensure a smooth transition of leadership, the Board will soon begin a search for an Assistant Superintendent, with the intent of preparing that individual to assume the role of Superintendent upon Mr. Herman’s retirement.
With 32 years in education, Mr. Herman brings a wealth of experience and a deep commitment to our District. During the last 12 years of his service to AWLS, he has demonstrated outstanding leadership and dedication to our students, staff, families, and community. His reputation for compassionate leadership and commitment to collaboration makes him well suited to lead the District through this transition period while ensuring the District’s continued excellence.
